Life, Unplugged!

How many of you are familiar with the MTV show made popular in the 90’s, “Unplugged”? It was a ‘concert’ where artists unplugged their instruments and gave a mostly acoustic performance. Fans loved it because they got to see unique versions of their favorite songs and feel a little closer to the musicians as they performed in an intimate setting.  Artists loved it because it gave them a chance to slow things down and reflect upon their career, their performance and their lyrics. It’s interesting that audiences and fans both made the show popular because it allowed everyone to reflect a little more.

Are you living life like a rock star?  When was the last time you slowed down to reflect on your purpose, journey or goals? Technology makes it easy for us to do more things at once and move very fast to keep up with everything going on around us. If you feel overwhelmed or out of balance, it may be because you haven’t made time for yourself.  In all aspects of live, mental and physical well being are just as important as your knowledge and skill set.

If you’re feeling out of balance or not delivering results like a rock star, slow down – even for a few minutes a day.  Use that time to exercise or reflect or pray; how ever you want to spend it.  In fact, block off time on your calendar and title it, “Life Unplugged”. It will remind you why it’s there…. for you to enjoy life a bit more and for your fans (family, friends, co-workers) to continually see the results they’ve come to expect from you!

Make today a great day!
